Planting, paths and lighting for the ground around the house.
What it does
Yards are the last thing remodelled and the first thing seen. This works from a photo of what is there — the levels, the boundaries, the trees you are keeping — and designs around them rather than starting from an empty plot.
How to use it
- 1Photograph the yard from the house, and from the far end if you can.
- 2Say what it is for — eating, playing, low maintenance.
- 3Name anything staying: a tree, a shed, a boundary.
Questions
- Does it keep my existing trees?
- Name them and yes. Otherwise it may redesign around them.
- Will it show planting realistically?
- It shows established planting, so allow for the growing-in years.
