Change the Floor

New floor, same room, in about a minute.

What it does

Flooring is the largest single surface in most rooms and the one hardest to picture from a 6-inch sample. Swapping it in the actual room shows what the sample never can: how it reads against your walls, at your ceiling height, in your light.

How to use it

  1. 1Photograph the room with as much floor visible as possible.
  2. 2Describe the flooring — material, tone, plank width.
  3. 3Compare two or three by running it again.

Questions

Does the furniture move?
No. Only the floor changes; everything sitting on it stays.
Can I specify plank direction?
Yes, name it in the description. Direction changes how long a room reads.
