Convert a Garage
A slab, three walls, and a very large opening to solve.
What it does
A garage conversion succeeds or fails on the door opening. Filled badly it announces itself from the street forever; filled well it reads as though the house always had a room there. This shows both the inside and what the front elevation becomes.
How to use it
- 1Photograph the garage interior, and the facade separately if you can.
- 2Say what the room is for.
- 3Choose how the old door opening should be filled.
Questions
- Does it show the outside too?
- Run the facade photo through Remodel the Exterior to see the street view.
- Will it account for the floor level?
- Name the step in the notes — most garage slabs sit below the house floor.
