Design a Nursery
Crib, changing area and a chair that works at 3am.
What it does
A nursery is a two-year room unless it is planned to change. This leans toward pieces that convert — a dresser rather than a changing table, storage that outlives the toys — and puts the crib somewhere it is not in a draught.
How to use it
- 1Photograph the room with the window in frame.
- 2Say which wall the crib should go on, or let it choose.
- 3Note anything the room has to keep doing afterwards.
Questions
- Does it place the crib safely?
- It keeps the crib clear of the window, the radiator and any cord.
- Will the furniture still work later?
- That is the bias — pieces that become a child's bedroom rather than furniture-shaped landfill.
